Amy Harwell works as Assistant Chief for the Capital Habeas Unit at Office of the Federal Public Defender for the Middle District of Tennessee. She has represented death row inmates at both the state and federal level. As part of the legal team that represented federal death row inmate Lisa Montgomery, Ms. Harwell witnessed the execution of Ms. Montgomery by the federal government on January 12, 2021.
