Perry Cobb

By Sandra Joy

Perry Cobb was exonerated from death row in Illinois and soon after his release from prison he relocated to Memphis, Tennessee, where he currently resides. When I sat down with him, Perry recalled the trauma that he experienced during the decade that he was wrongfully incarcerated, as other men he met on death row prepared for their execution. While Illinois no longer has the death penalty, Perry recalls the trauma he felt even after his release from prison each time someone he knew from his time on death row was executed.
